CISCE Class 10, 12 board exams 2021

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations have stated that it will be reviewing the COVID-19 situation and soon take a decision on conducting the class 10 and 12 board exams. The CISCE announcement was made after the CBSE announced its decision to cancel the class 10 exams and postpone the class 12 exams considering the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country.

Situation to be reviewed

CISCE Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon stated that the council is reviewing the situation and a decision will soon be made in this regard however the secretary has not given a hint on what the council is considering. The CISCE Class 10 board examinations were scheduled to begin from May 5 while the class 12 exams already commenced from April 8, 2021.

Boards cancelled last year

Last year the CISCE class 10 and 12 board exams were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the students were evaluated based on the internal assessment of the students. The CISCE education board had told the supreme court last year that it will not provide students with an option or re-exams and the students will be evaluated only on the basis of internal assessment.

Previous year Assessment Scheme

According to the assessment scheme released for the previous year the candidates were assessed based on the best three percentage marks obtained in the subjects for which the board exams were conducted and the internal marks of the students along with project work.
