Coronavirus Live Updates: With highest single-day spike of 386, the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country soared to 1828. Death toll in India also rose sharply to 41. Despite the sharp rise in the number of cases, Health Ministry officials refuted claims that this was a national trend and instead attributed it as an after effect of the Tablighi Jamaat event held in Nizammudin West in Delhi. Central and State Governments are working round the clock to trace all the delegates who attended the religious congregation to curb further spread of the virus. Globally, the number of COVID-19 cases is expected to touch the 1 million mark today wiith death toll expected to cross 50,000 mark.

As per ANI report, a CRPF doctor has tested positive for COVID-19 in Delhi. The doctor is the Chief Medical Officer residing in officers mess in Saket, Delhi. Following the confirmation of coronavirus infection, the doctor has been placed in quarantine while staff and guests living in officers mess have been placed in quarantine.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal confirmed that there are total 219 COVID-19 cases in Delhi of which 208 coronavirus patients are admitted in various hospitals across the city. Of the total number of cases, 108 cases have been found among the people evacuated from Nizamuddin Markaz. Total 4 Deaths have occurred in the national capital due to coronavirus infection, of which 2 are traced back to Markaz.

Health Ministry, in its evening briefing confirmed that there have been 328 fresh cases reported of COVID-19 across the country in last 24 Hours. The Death Toll has also shown sharp rise with 12 deaths. On the positive note, a total of 151 people have completely recovered from the disease and have been discharged from hospitals.

Government of India, today, launched the official COVID-19 Tracking App, which aims to connect people with the Health authorities and provide accurate and verified information about the Coronavirus pandemic in the country. The mobile app is called Aarogya Setu, which is currently available for Android Smart Phones via Google Playstore and for iOS devices via App Store. The app uses GPS and Bluetooth to track active cases of COVID-19 and informs the users, if they are in close proximity to them.

According to a PTI report, Israel's Health Minister Yaakov Litzman has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been put into isolation. Following this, Israel’s intelligence agency ssad chief Yossi Cohen and National Security Adviser Meir Ben Shabbat, who are believed to have been in touch with the minister, have also started self-quarantine.
Earlier, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu had gone into self-isolation his close aide tested positive for Coronavirus.

On Wednesday, Dharava – one of the most congested parts of Mumbai, reported its first Coronavirus case. With the detection of first case in such a crowded neighbourhood, health authorities are now concerned about the spread of the virus in the slums of the city. Reports indicate that a 56-year-old patient from Dharavi had tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday and died later in the night at Sion Hospital.
