Earlier yesterday, PM Modi hinted at a staggered lifting of lockdown after 14th April 2020 in his video conference with Chief Ministers of various states. On Thursday, the total number of positive cases in India soared past 2000 mark with Death Toll at 52 while at global level the number of cases rose past 1 million mark with over 50,000 deaths.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today briefed media about the latest update about COVID-19 cases in the national capital. As per the details provided by him, 91 Fresh Cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Delhi in last 24 Hours, taking the overall tally of the state to 384. He also added that of the total number of cases, 259 cases have been reported from Nizammuddin Markaz. He also added that the Death Toll in national capital also rise to 5, with 1 death reported in last 24 hours.

ICMR spokesperson at the evening briefing of health ministry confirmed that a total of 130 Government Laboratories and 52 Private Laboratories are currently conducting tests for COVID-19 in India. ICMR also informed that yesterday, over 8000 samples were tested by these laboratories, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 66,000.

Uttar Pradesh Government has setup a Rs 1000 Crore Fund for dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic in the state. The decision to setup a dedicated fund to deal with COVID-19 was announced by UP CM Yogi Adityanath. He said that the Rs 1000 Crore worth of COVID-19 Fund will be used for setting up testing facilities and procuring ventilators, masks and sanitisers.

Health Ministry Joint Secretary Luv Agarwal in the evening briefing today confirmed that India now has over 2300 COVID-19 cases of which 336 fresh cases have been reported in last 24 Hours. In the briefing he also said that of the total number of cases 647 cases are related to Tablighi Jamaat event.

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot sent out a tweet confirming that a WHO team will be visiting Rajasthan''s Tonk district on Friday to conduct a survey in the wake of rising number of coronavirus cases in the state. He also reiterated that the state government is committed to following all the guidelines and prevention techniques recommended by WHO to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state. As per the latest update available on Ministry of Health Website, the number of total positive active cases of COVID-19 has jumped to 2088 and the death toll has risen to 56.
