ICSE Class 12 Results: The class 12 ICSE board examination results were declared on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Here is the list of Tricity toppers for the arts, science and commerce streams.
Chaitanya Gupta from Strawberry Fields High School topped in the humanities stream with 99.5 percent. A student who idolizes Shahsi Tharoor, Chaitanya says that he dreams of working at the United Nations. Talking about his success mantra, Chaitanya says that staying focused, keeping calm and having faith in oneself is the key to success. He loves to play video games and in his free time prefers to indulge himself in a book, draw or play video games.
Chaitanya’s father Sukant Gupta is a lawyer with the Punjab and Haryana High Court while his mother Ritu Garg is a District sessions judge in the Panchkula District Court.
Like his parents, Chaitanya wishes to pursue a career in law. He wished to secure an admission at the National Law School of India University.
Akshit Chabbra from Strawberry Fields High School is the topper for the Tricity in the medical stream with 96.26 percent. Chabbra has been a national level tennis player. Akshit took up maths along with medical for his Class 12 examination. Akshit’s 76-year-old grandfather would study for 10 hours to guide him in mathematics.
Born to medical professionals, Akshit believes that the key to success is taking a lot of breaks during studies and staying focused. He also gives the credit to the support of his parents and teachers. Akshit has taken up admission in the United States for Computational Biology and will be heading for his further studies from August 2019.
Alskit was not an active participant on the social media platforms. He preferred not to go to a dummy school. Being the school captain he balanced all the school activities along with his studies.
Hritabh Hrishit from St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School secured 99 percent to be named the Tricity topper in the commerce stream. Hrishit believes that social media is a disturbance which injects negativity because of which he stayed away from it. He aims to become an IFS officer because of his love for travelling.
Hrishit while talking about his study pattern mentions that regular studies and setting proper goals is what worked for him to succeed. He, however, insists that quality study is the key. Even if one studies for a few hours it must be sincere. He says that a break after one or one and a half hour of studies is a must. He also credits his success to the constant support he received from his parents and teachers.
Hrishit’s father is the manager at SBI while his mother is a homemaker.
Non- Medical Stream
Tarandeep Kaur from YPS Mohali secured 98.5 percent to become the topper for the Non-Medical stream. She did not take any extra coaching and as she did not want to compromise on self-study.
Tarandeep aims to become an IAS officer and was also the head girl of the school. Talking about her study routine she says that she did not take up any extra coaching and believed in being regular in her studies. She added that it was only towards the end where she needed help in Physics and took up extra coaching.
While others have a different view about social media, Taranndeep thinks otherwise. She says that personally she is not opposed to the idea of social media although she did not have time to invest in it.
