According to reports, the results of the Second Pre-University and the Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination results are expected to be declared by the last week of July or the first week of August 2020. The announcement was made by the Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar.
The Karnataka education department, instead of giving general promotion to the class 10 and 2 students like the Central Board of Secondary Education and other states have done, decided to conduct the examinations amidst the COVID-19 lockdown.
The minister while speaking to the media stated that the department is trying to declare the SSLC Results by the first week of August 2020 while the Second PUC results are expected to be released by the last week of July 2020.
The minister amidst reports of increasing the school fee ignoring the government's directions stated that he has received reports that close to 1,150 schools have increased their fee. He assured that action will be taken against 450 schools. He further added that the schools have been directed not to increase the fee keeping in mind the COVID-19 lockdown. He also added that officers have been entrusted to look into the complaints against the schools.
The government also announced that the decision regarding reopening the schools will be taken after July 5, 2020. The department has issued a schedule for the online classes to be conducted for the students from class 1 to 10. The classes will be conducted for the students as per the s schedule released. The state formed a committee for recommending guidelines for conducting online classes for the students, and once the reports are submitted the regulations will be formulated.REGISTER FOR RESULTS UPDATES
