The Election Commission of India has permitted the Government of Kerala to postpone the Class 10 and 12 school examinations scheduled to be conducted to April 8, 2021, due to the upcoming state elections. The Kerala State assembly elections are scheduled to be conducted on April 6, 2021.
The state government asked for the postponement of the SSLC and HSC examinations beginning from March 17, 2021, as the teachers had been called for election duty and classrooms were being used for election purposes.
Earlier The Kerala state government had forwarded a letter seeking the postponement of the exams to the Chief Electoral Officer, Kerala who then forwarded the letter to the Election Commission for its approval. The exams which were to begin from March 17, 2021, will now be conducted from April 8 to 30, 2021 following the permission granted by the Election Commission.
The board earlier announced its decision to provide options for students appearing for the Class 10 exams to opt for a change in the examination centre. The last date for students to submit the exam centre change option is today - March 12, 2021.
The government had earlier on postponed the Kerala Board Model Exams for the class 10 and 2 students due to a Motor Vehicle Strike. The exams to be conducted on March 2, 2021, were postponed to March 8, 2021.
Students scheduled to appear for the Kerala Board class 10 and 12 examinations are advised to follow the examination guidelines strictly since the exams are being conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.REGISTER FOR RESULTS UPDATES
