Kerala Board enabled Exam Centre Change Option: Kerala Government has asked DHSE Kerala open the facility to change exam centre for SSLC and Plus Two Exams keeping in mind the on-going pandemic. According to media reports, the change in exam centre option is being enabled specially for those students who were part of residential schooling system and were staying at various facilities of Department of Social Welfare like Model Residential School Hostel, Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Hostel, Sports Hostel and Shelter Homes. On similar lines, students from Lakshadeep island, and gulf countries have also been provided the option of opting for change in the exam centre for SSLC and Plus Two Exams. Through this option, students who are part of residential schools will be able to change their exam centres to their hometowns.
In a statement issued clarifying the rules and guidelines for allowing exam centre change for students, Kerala School Education Department also mentioned that the board will only entertain request for exam centre change from students only on inter-district basis. Simply put, students will not be allowed to change their examination centre within the same district as earlier. Also, students opting for exam centre change can opt for the schools which offer the subject combination they are studying in.
Keeping in mind the ongoing nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19, the Kerala Government has launched two dedicated portals where application for change in exam centres would be accepted. SSLC Students can submit their applications for change in exam centre requests at sslcexam.kerala.gov.in website. Similarly, Plus Two students can submit their exam centre change applications online on scap.kerala.gov.in and vhscap.kerala.gov.in, respectively.
Keeping in mind the tight timelines before the SSLC and HSE Exams for the pending subjects begin, DHSE Kerala will accept application for change in exam centres until 21st May 2020. Following the completion of application stage, students will be allotted revised exam centres and a new list will be published by 23rd May 2020. The students will be allotted a suitable exam centre within the district if they cannot be allotted the exact centre they have been applied for.REGISTER FOR RESULTS UPDATES
