Maharashtra SSC Exam 2020 Marathi question paper viral

An FIR has been lodged with the Cybercrime Police in Jalgaon by the Nasik Division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in connection with four pages of the Marathi language question paper which was viral on day one of the SSC Examinations. The Jalgaon Education Department lodged an FIR as per the instructions directed from the board’s divisional secretary Nitin Upasani.

Upasani, while speaking to the media said that within 20 minutes from the commencement of the examinations the board received information that the question paper is viral from an examination centre at Muktainagar Taluk of Jalgaon district. He further stated that as per his instructions a team of local education department officials rushed to the said centre to get the details regarding the leak.

He mentioned that the team found out that neither any invigilator nor the centre in-charge was in possession of any cell phone while the exam was being conducted. He pointed out that the possibility of the question paper being leaked from the centre has been ruled out.

Jalgaon Education Officer, B.Patil has stated that since a part of the 16-page question paper has gone viral. The department has lodged an FIR as it is essential to find out the culprit. He also mentioned that the investigations have so far revealed that the question paper went viral after the examination began so the examinees did not have access to the soft copy of the paper which was leaked.

The Cybercrime police have been asked to initiate an investigation immediately and identify the culprits. Examination coordinator of the school at Muktainagar said that it is the work of the culprits to bring in a bad name to the invigilators who are involved in the supervision process at the centre. He also added that the police must get hold of the people immediately.

As per reports, close to 715 students appeared for the Maharashtra SSC examination at the centre in Muktainagar with 32 invigilators.

Elsewhere close to 10 cases were reported where students were caught cheating during the examination in four districts under the Nashik Division of the board. Five cases have been reported from Jalgaon district while four have come up in Nandubar and one in Dhule. Nashik, on the other hand, did not report any cheating cases in the examination.
