Odisha HSC Exam 2019 Odia Exam Paper was leaked online on social media platforms on 22nd February 2019 – the first day of the Odisha 12th Class Exam 2019, as per media reports. The Odia language question paper for CHSE Odisha 12th Exam surfaced on different social media platforms in two districts of the state i.e. Nuapada and Dhenkanal only minutes after the commencement of the HSC examination 2019. A report from IANS also confirmed the news stating that the Mother India Language (Odia) question paper surfaced on social media platforms in Nuapada and Dhenkanal districts.
Despite media reports, Odisha state school and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra denied the reports of the paper leak. He stated that mobile phones were completely prohibited at the exam centres and therefore leak of Odia language question paper was simply not possible from the exam centres. In an official statement, Patra said that “As per the system, question papers are transported to nodal centres and kept there in police custody. It was dispatched to exam centres under tight police security. There is no way the paper could leak as the packets were opened in the presence of officials.”
Later on, the Odisha Board confirmed the news that the Odia language paper was leaked online on social media platforms. The BSE Odisha President Jahan Ara Begum issued a statement saying “The question paper was leaked after the commencement of the exam and the board will conduct an inquiry into the matter.” Expressing surprise at the paper leak on social media, Board president said that “We had made all sorts of security arrangements. Mobile phones in the exam hall were completely banned. Disciplinary action will definitely be taken if the enquiry reveals that anyone has deviated from the instructions."
This year, a total of 5.87 lakh students are expected to appear for the Odisha HSC Exam 2019. The exam have commenced from 22nd February 2019 and will continue until 8th March 2019.
